Audio Jack
An audio jack is a standard connector used for transmitting audio signals between devices. Typically found on headphones, smartphones, computers, and various audio equipment, it allows for the easy connection and disconnection of audio devices. The most common type is the 3.5mm stereo jack, also known as the headphone jack, which supports stereo sound and sometimes includes a microphone channel. Audio jacks can also come in other sizes, such as 1/4 inch (6.35mm) or 1/8 inch (2.5mm), and may have different configurations to accommodate various audio formats and applications, including TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) and TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) designs that add an extra contact for microphone use. Audio jacks serve as a simple and practical solution for connecting audio devices, providing both functionality and convenience in personal and professional audio setups.
